Interesting chapter as always. Yuri is certainly making it clear that Edward does her bidding and she would have gained the favour of the populace with her actions, if she's advertised that she's responsible for the food distribution. However, all her actions (draining the funds of the country, being willing to disband the army, encouraging the nobility to neglect their duties and live in luxury.) lead to the demise of the Kingdom. She is also under investigation by Queen Dowager, and now apparently Iris also wants to gather information on Yuri.

Right now, the only other country we've heard about is Towair, and the threat they posed. But honestly, if they are currently experiencing a famine, then they are in no shape to be waging war. Military campaigns require rations, and you can't stock up when the people are hungry.

I'm surprised they're calling yoga the stretching exercises Iris has introduced. You'd think that using such a word would be odd.

Hmm. Another point for Yuri being a spy. Honestly, that'd be a pretty neat development, and I'd like to see the kind of face Ed makes if she ever stabs him in the back when he's most vulnerable.

That said, I still can't wrap my head around what Yuri is doing being a spy's handiwork. I mean, sure, it's bringing this country to ruin, but she's standing out so much and making the ploys so obvious that it feels...too blatant?

If this happened in our world, I suspect someone would've ordered an assassination for her by now. "For the sake of the country".

@Psychronia : It's near obvious to us because Bern gave his report on how Yuri is the source of all the fests and the reduction of the army. Without this point of view, you can think that Yuri is just a sweet little dumb girl and that it's the prince who decided all of this things.

Keep in mind that apart for the MC and her family that nearly hate Yuri for what she did to MC it's really hard for the people to not be enthralled by Yuri's charism.

For an exterior person, you see that Yuri has all the men at her boots but she seems kind of "nice but simple" and you don't know that she is the one giving the ideas.
For an interior point of view, you have already fallen for Yuri and she seems "nice but simple" and you just think about pleasing her, without seeing that she maybe manipulate you.
