They rebelled due to the other split personality minds that she had, and were just following what those "minds" were telling them to. When she took them out that made her the only one that can control them.

Advanced Technology stuff is there in WN but not clearly define as LN and manga.

LN and WN is greatly diverse when Kumoko reached Arachne form. I have read all of LN and I believe it is better and more refined than WN.
