People mad about the acting stuff are missing the point. The arc was overly long because of the beta couple, but the actual point was fine.
"they're so good at ad-libbing! "but, if the confessions weren't in the script, then...
He has to deal with that luggage, one way or another.So don't make a 30 chapter arc themed around Acting if he never cared to come back to begin with, like i said, either commit to innovation or advance the original concept, this arc didn't do either it was a waste of time
Yeah, this. This is the biggest problem with the overarching plot: Yuu becoming a househusband isn't really much of a plotline.1) "supporting the people he loves" is not a career
Even adults frequently need confirmations that the choices they've made have been the right ones.and it is exactly what Yuu has been doing all along, so confirming this was unnecessary at best;
On the contrary: moving from "recognized as worthless and thrown away from that possible career path" to "recognized as potentially capable by chosen himself to avoid that possible career path" is major character growth for Yuu. The only problem is the direction of that growth (that is, throwing career ambitions away in favour of home life).2) meeting his two former colleagues was meant as a step in overcoming his complex about acting. It changes nothing about his situation or dynamic with the sisters, but
3) his complex itself is now a moot point, since he seemingly doesn't give a shit about acting anyway;
There are literally three confessions from the sisters, o brother mine. What more could you want.Conclusion: this entire arc was not only a boring slog, but a monumental waste of time since it set nothing up and had no payoff at all -unless you count a couple of blushes and improvised lines of appreciation and gratitude.
The mysterious third thing!"I'm something else"
Yep, this. She's the villain now, and that was a wicked thing to do.I wonder if her giving Yuu the scripts was some kind of revenge for rejecting her.
that's the thing, he didn't, because he just went and said he never cared to go back to begin with so the luggage was a strawman plot, we never see him waver or any monologue by him about wanting to go back to acting while this arc happened, hell we barely see Yuu-kun in this arc even tho it was mainly meant to affect himHe has to deal with that luggage, one way or another.
Well, if you need characters to go on lengthy monologues spelling out exactly what they might be thinking about something to understand that they do, then sure, Yuu did majorly let you down.that's the thing, he didn't, because he just went and said he never cared to go back to begin with so the luggage was a strawman plot, we never see him waver or any monologue by him about wanting to go back to acting while this arc happened, hell we barely see Yuu-kun in this arc even tho it was mainly meant to affect him
If it's a waste of your time you can always stop reading. This is a romcom, if you don't enjoy the journey, get off the train.So don't make a 30 chapter arc themed around Acting if he never cared to come back to begin with, like i said, either commit to innovation or advance the original concept, this arc didn't do either it was a waste of time
The thing that really beguiles the mind though too is that, bro has already gone through his acting arc, we just weren't there for it, it's unnecessary though to go back to it. I love this comment though because I think you might be right but yeah, he's already gone through that arc, we don't need him to go through it again, so glad the author didn't put him back into acting.Because the idea of a male protagonist realizing that he's happiest as a "cute and supportive softboy househusbando" (and that it's where he's most skilled to boot) instead of a badass chad makes them shortcircuit.
God forbid Yuu actually enjoy cooking and housework and supporting the people he loves.
He doesn't NEED a "career", being a househusband/housewife/homermaker is perfectly valid and realizing that he doesn't NEED to be "conventionally" talented like Society says because being able to make the people he loves happy is in fact just as valid a talent/lifepath as "I make a bajillion dollars with teh power of my SUPER ACTING/BUSINESS SKILLS!" is a pretty damn good message to send to the readers.That's one thing, but there's two much better reasons to be annoyed at this:
1) "supporting the people he loves" is not a career and it is exactly what Yuu has been doing all along, so confirming this was unnecessary at best;
2) meeting his two former colleagues was meant as a step in overcoming his complex about acting. It changes nothing about his situation or dynamic with the sisters, but

Conclusion: this entire arc was not only a boring slog, but a monumental waste of time since it set nothing up and had no payoff at all -unless you count a couple of blushes and improvised lines of appreciation and gratitude. Since this isn't a "apgracom" but a romcom, I sure don't
Discussion about being a stay at home husband aside, we still have a problem: Yuu has consistently brushed off the girls' hints and until now can't even conceive that they'd be into him. I'll be hyped as anyone if he does realize it, but this manga has pulled this bait and switch before, more than once. I do have grounds to be skeptical.He doesn't NEED a "career", being a househusband/housewife/homermaker is perfectly valid and realizing that he doesn't NEED to be "conventionally" talented like Society says because being able to make the people he loves happy is in fact just as valid a talent/lifepath as "I make a bajillion dollars with teh power of my SUPER ACTING/BUSINESS SKILLS!" is a pretty damn good message to send to the readers.
The way you talk you act like this hasn't been just like every arc, the only thing different with this one is there was an attempt at a confession and NOW Yuu knows they actually have feelings for him. Which is a huge advancement compared to previous arcs if you actually bother to think about things instead.
That's their fault not his, they're too chicken shit to speak their honest feelingsDiscussion about being a stay at home husband aside, we still have a problem: Yuu has consistently brushed off the girls' hints and until now can't even conceive that they'd be into him.
