Chapter 60 ended with a bunch of vehicles leaving it in the dust. Note how Akira isn't shooting, so it might be because it's out of weapon range already. No dogs surrounding them either.
Admittedly the text on the side doesn't give that impression.

The manga follows the LN, it's basically a 1:1 at this point, i think volume 3 part 2
Why did the Author have to have the LN named horribly, should of just made it volume 4, then current raw LN volume 10 instead of 8.

Volume 3 part 1 and part 2 are one arc. Volume 4 also had parts. Editors make it so you can buy which arc you like in novels, unlike before where Volume 4 and Volume 5 and Volume 6 belong to the same arc like the Arifureta like novels.
After all, not all Arcs are interesting so some JP just buy their favorite arc. This makes the LN, huh, systematic.

Playing it safe, he needs to put it under the table, with conspirators and he need to find a stronger competition. Those two fortunes appeared on his plate and right in front of him, so only a harem of Katsuya will ignore it.
Every move Shikarabe made sense even in Web Novel and is actually very pragmatic, not cowardly. This was not changed, because possibly Shikarabe is needed for the next arcs. Or Shikarabe is a favorite character.
