This really didn't need to be an isekai. Having read up to chapter 17 there has been only two times, other than this first chapter, that it has been briefly brought up.
He could just as easily have been an elf who got bored with elf life.

A fantasy being an isekai when it doesn't have to be isekai is ok but those no adventurer rank cliche is what I'm realy sick of. It's either SABCEDF or gold silver bronze now it the number of star. These authors seem think that fantasy genre = RPG

Was he really a human? And I really dislike this childlike appearance, made 100 times worse by him cutting his hair! Why? Can't we ffs once have a long haired guy who looks mature? This shota trend needs to end! :pepehmm:
he looks like 15,which is in line with most isekai/fantasy and in the whole manga industry.
also, not really childlike and certainly not shota (where did that even come from?) he doesn't look like an third grader.

it's not because rpg=fantasy,in most manga where you join an organization there going to be a rank system,it's essentiam for plot so we can have a clear seperation in power and an incentive to level up for characters.it's completely neutral thing and being annoyed by it certainly weird,it's like complaining about things like noble ranks where it's normal and necessary to seperate things.

Mangaka might just prefer not spending time drawing long hair - looks time consuming

Is he mentally challenged? Or did those 120 years really make him forget how humans are?

This has high ratings, and I know it's just the first chapter, but if not for the ratings I wouldn't have continued this.

ok look at it like this our world doesn't have many of the things this world has. you wouldn't expect everything to be the same in this world. primarily vastely different cultures.

this isn't the japan he knew
this isn't even the world he knew
these arent the humans he knew.
this isn't the society he knew
he was born and lived 120 years in an isolated forest as a godly being.
you honestly think he would be able to understand all the differences when this is his first time stepping into human society.

you have to think in the settings of the world. just adding magic alone would vastly change the cultures and mindset and foundations of societal norms, let alone add in races that are fundimentally on a completly different level of livespan.
so no he isn't mentally challenged this is culture shock.

Exactly. Hence why, I called him that, when one doesn't know, is that not when one's supposed to be more cautious?

no not really there are many people going into situations thinking they know what to expect thinking they are ready.
only to find the reality to be more different than they thought.
if everyone was so cautious as you suggest then culture shock wouldn't be as big as it is.
people come to America or Americans go to Japan or Britain and think they know the societal norms and customs. yet there are still things that completely catch them off guard.

caution is born out of a sense of potential danger. but Aesir is so powerful he didn't need to be so cautious. look he walks out of the forest and is immediately beset with highly dangerous creatures and he treats it as causal stroll. its being so powerful and living a carefree life for 120 years that breed this carefree nature.

Guilds having ranks is fine, it was a thing in our world too, but the presentation is always very RPG-gamey and while that make it easy to get for the reader, it's also boring and it's always the same. For once it would be intersting to have it go by "who you know", "who knows you" and even internal guild intrigues, instead of a precise system that you level up in if you kill enough wolves.
