Because the author created a really infuriating situation, which has quite a lot of implications once you think about them. So it has to be properly resolved, somehow.
I mean, the moment you consider that "every pretty person I know was apparently magically gifted in a world barren of magic" and "my childhood "friend" leaked out charm-magic, in a world barren of magic" -- something HAS to happen. The plot hooks are there, it's just a matter of time before it actually goes somewhere. And interacting with Asahi is one way to get there.
I can't say I can stand Asahi myself, I nearly dropped the story because of that high-level bullshit that surrounds her, but the manga made it a point to have these characters have these qualities. Sadly, she's not going away any time soon. <_<
