One thing I would note, though, is I really do not believe that Merize is dead. I do believe she is alive and well in the human world OR another safe area that Demon Border Control (specifically Henri) controls. I feel like if Merize was dead then Henri would have made it clear to those who know him and Ameri that Ameri's mother (Merize) had passed away AND he would have told Ameri that she had passed away. Because if Ameri knows her mother passed then there would never be a way for her to look for her, but maybe deep down he hopes she will try to find her mother when she was ready to hear about her origins.

I mean, maybe Merize did die in a fashion, that being having her memories of Henri, Ameri, and her time in the underworld erased for the sake of secrecy/keeping knowledge of humans contained, and if she got back to our world and became the author of that manga, it could be that she wrote it with lingering echoes/residues of those memories.

Is it depressing? Yes, but I could see the higher ups pulling something like that to keep things contained

Theory time. The birth goes well, and Merize lives. But she does regain her memories because they were suppressed by Nightwalker when they first captured her.

Nightwalker's using this as a giant OP where he will try to use Ameri's existence as a half-human to show why demons should conquer/subjugate humans, or why humans are a danger of diluting pure demon blood and thus should be banished from the Demon World. This is why Narnia is part of the anti-human faction working with Baal in the present, having "inherited" his father's work.

Merize's life will be in danger, and Kunshinashi will give her life to save her & Ameri, thus the Throne will remain empty until the present day. Sullivan will find a way to send Merize home, thus knowing of a way to go there to adopt Iruma in the future. Merize will have her memories of the Demon World wiped, but enough emotions last that she creates the manga, and Sullivan is the one to give Henri (and thus Ameri) every volume of his and her love story.

I'm guessing the reason not alot of demons remember or say anything abou this is either

A) They all died here. I don't know how,
B) Sworn an oath to a highest form of secrecy (or maybe some curse that prevents them from talking about it, or
C) the memory erasure magic might come up here (and hopefully reveal that its a rare magic of the purson clan)

The future teachers look to be around 8-13 here. If Ameri is 16-18 now, that would put the youngest teacher at 24, but more likely they are closer to 30. A bit young but still reasonable for a teacher.

Add in that one needs to be rank 7 to become a teacher, and with enough drive, like Ameri, one could become rank 7 before their 3rd year of school is over. Henri was likely rank 7 on graduation as Sullivan wanted him to be a teacher. So they might be young, but have proven capable to teach.

I'm assuming a problem arose and a whole bunch of demons perished as a result because there is no way these demons are never heard from again in the present time considering their overall influence. Afterwards there was a split between the survivors those who accepted with heartache to keep things under wraps and those who burned with hatred.

My guess is that she would not die but is given some deus ex machina to retreat into the human world due to demonic extremists

She cant bring her daughter along cus she's visibly like her dad

Since we've seen Sullivan do excursions in the human world, Henri may have done the same to some extent to gather his wife's writings. This could be the reason why he isn't so hesitant about sharing the past. It isnt a completely hurtful memory. It's bad but not the usual stuff we see in writing where the dad gets mopey and hesitant

But the acting demon king... Ameri's birth might have genuinely caused an upheaval in their society? Higher ups are genuinely supportive of this birth and is planned to make sure it goes well

Whatever is going to happen is gonna get really crazy huh?

The manga is her way of talking with Henri after she was sent back to the human world.
That's why he got all the volumes.

I don't think that would be the case. Henri and Merize keep using the name Ameri to talk about the currently unborn baby AND before the flashback started Ameri referred to Merize as mother as well as when they were in the dimension between Ameri referred to the flowers as ones that her mother loved.

I think the more likely answer is that almost everyone related to this had their memory altered by someone. The only ones who may have memory of this are Henri (as a punishment of sorts maybe?), Sullivan, and a few select others. Why hadn't we ever heard of the acting Demon King before this as well? Why is there no acting Demon King now? We know who the acting Demon King is because they had been mentioned in a prior chapter...just not that they were the acting Demon King.

Another theory I have is: when a human enters the demon world and then returns to the human world then maybe all demons except for those with a strong attachment to said human would just simply forget. If that is the case then if Iruma ends up back in the human world there is a possibility that most could forget he existed.

Everything above his ass was in the human world at the end of the datus interruptus arc, and it seemed like the risk was that he would end up BEING there against his will.

(I still find it gross that Iruma gets pulled away from a date by a creepy man who tried to groom him in two different ways, and could have succeeded at one, which is heinous. Iruma would never become a thief, but the boy falls in love easily, and doesn't even understand that, yet.
Creepy man constantly flirts with a 15yo so as to manipulate him, then pretends to be a 16yo so as to kiss him on the mouth.

I am going to be honest. I don't think so. First why does ameri's father collect human manga? Answer it's his wife's work. Second why does he allow ameri to see human manga because that is the only way she can experience her mom. Third ameri's father knows iruma is human and said he can alter memories. Sounds like he has done this before. Honestly this is the only way that makes sense to why ameri's father collects that specific manga. plus ameri's mother is good a drawing. 🤔

Wasn't it mentioned that she remembers her mother. I suspect something akin to wanting to experiment on the child and he breaks peoples souls for attempting it.
