So he didn't marry her for love either, but got upset when it didn't just happen on its own? All the weird demands for her to change her appearance were deliberately hurtful to get a reaction from her?

It seems like he really did expect for her to stay a doormat while he kicked her out of the house, took back the dowry, and left his sole name on her patents. I didn't expect it to be a calculated decision based on the first chapter.

This scumbag just expected her to fall for and depend on him without him putting in any effort in either work or personal affairs? This guy deserves to fall into ruin.

It feels like this chapter was really disconnected from the previous chapters...His actions 'till now were almost comically over the top and absurdly villainous. He didn't even seem like a person, but just the author's bad-guy to create needless tension and plot progression. This chapter actually made him seem like a person, all of a sudden.
The impression I got from "his side of the story", was that even if he proposed to her out of greed, he actually felt like they were connecting as a couple as time went by. But when their relationship was put to the test, she didn't act the part of a partner. She went off on her own, showing that she never meant to be his partner to begin with. Feeling betrayed, he started one-sidedly venting at her, childishly hoping that she'd start expressing herself.

So while the guy is a piece of work, so is the girl.
I can't even come to hate the guy right now, because, as I said at the start of my comment -- the guy didn't even felt like a human being at the start of the mango. He was just a walking cliche the author wrote in to be the wall that forces the MC to act, and now he suddenly became an actual character instead of a plot device.

@bramhistory Dahlia did nothing morally wrong, there is a big difference between doing something wrong and acting in ways that don't make the relationship work. He is a shithead, oh he isn't satan just a minor asshole but still shitty. What you brought up for her weren't shitty things to do just potential relationship issues. I am stating that because you seem to consider her behavior a moral failing since you use it to argue against as you put it "Dahlia a saint without fault and Tobias a total villain".

He was an asshole since day 1, all the way to the annulment and beyond. What did he ever do to make the relationship work? I can't think of one single thing.

Sure, there were things Dahlia could have done differently, and maybe it'd have kept him under control. But unless you count emotionally manipulating her into dependence, financial and otherwise, what has he done to make it work?

All I hope at this point is that his family will see him for the waste of space he is and disown him.

@bramhistory :
When he about to support her isn't Dahlia's words that stopped him from doing so?
No, his insecurities stopped him, not her words. She was clearly suffering, and trying to pull herself together, after he failed to support her. Realistically he should have made effort to show support long before they got to the grave marker.

Her words are not a don't comfort me, they are her trying to do the job he should have done from the start because but failed to.

Oops! All ASSHOLE

I think the point of giving his side of the story was never to give him any redemption, but to smack down any notion that maybe he actually had some not shitty motivations. And it worked! I still hate him!

@Solipsist : He's a self-centered person. Yeah maybe he was trying to get her to express herself with all those demands, but he also never stopped pushing even when it's quite clear the girl has basically shut off her emotions to prevent the company from breaking.
Fine, that might've been her fault but she also wanted them to have a future so that's understandable on both side.

Like, surely the company went stable at some point, at that time he could've told her that it's fine to stop holding herself back (ironic yes given his engagement breaking ends up triggering this)
But he just gave up trying to comfort her, and started making more oppressive demands on her instead.
And then he had the gall to go and get a new girl because boohoo she never react after I've been this much of an ass?

As much as I can understand his whole "she was too good that I always felt pressured" part, his actions after failed to convince me he actually cared about her on that ground and not just his own ego.
So tl;dr - sympathized with his initial feelings, but not the actions after

EDIT: With that said, I frankly don't think anything that felt like actual retribution from any person should happen. Given his lack of abilities both as craftsman and a manager (seriously, just look at the mess around the engagement breaking and this chapter) he'll eventually self-destruct, and MAYBE then he'll finally have to look in the mirror instead of pushing the blame onto something else.

Well this is just the usual non communication in couple.

Dahlia want to be the perfect bride to not be abandonned and for that she can make sacrifice and not complain while Tobias have a inferiority complex and want to be reliable for her.
Because none of them really talk, their actions have as result of the two of them be sad.

But unlike Dalhia, Tobias is willingly steal the work of Dahlia just to satisfate his ego and he is a really bad lover for Dahlia and the mistress, never in my life I accept the former engagement ring of the ex of my boyfriend, NEVER.
And asking to return the bracelet and a delai for the house for the mistress is just an act of pure egoism. If he want to marry another woman, work and earn monney, his impatience is childlike and egoist.
