@Solipsist : He's a self-centered person. Yeah maybe he was trying to get her to express herself with all those demands, but he also never stopped pushing even when it's quite clear the girl has basically shut off her emotions to prevent the company from breaking.
Fine, that might've been her fault but she also wanted them to have a future so that's understandable on both side.
Like, surely the company went stable at some point, at that time he could've told her that it's fine to stop holding herself back (ironic yes given his engagement breaking ends up triggering this)
But he just gave up trying to comfort her, and started making more oppressive demands on her instead.
And then he had the gall to go and get a new girl because boohoo she never react after I've been this much of an ass?
As much as I can understand his whole "she was too good that I always felt pressured" part, his actions after failed to convince me he actually cared about her on that ground and not just his own ego.
So tl;dr - sympathized with his initial feelings, but not the actions after
EDIT: With that said, I frankly don't think anything that felt like actual retribution from any person should happen. Given his lack of abilities both as craftsman and a manager (seriously, just look at the mess around the engagement breaking and this chapter) he'll eventually self-destruct, and MAYBE then he'll finally have to look in the mirror instead of pushing the blame onto something else.
