To be fair, he has shown multiple times that he is not great at knowing what is appropriate to say/do. Still you would think he could at least recognize the devastation on her face

@Aichan He may have changed his perspective toward Lynette from their first encounter to his beloved. But at the very least, the prince didn't see Lynette as a woman from the beginning, that's probably what's hurting her into thinking that's how the prince sees to her now.

People here dissing the prince as if it weren’t just explained that he experienced a severe trauma as a child. Sure, someone needs to explain that his thoughts and his way of expressing them are problematic, but insulting someone with trauma ain’t helping anyone.

My guess is that they might be both magical. Before he got to know her, she was just any other girl and yet she was still the only one that could approach her. He probably unconsciously casts magic to every woman near him and touches him to become incapacitated while she might be unconsciously blocking magic.

The “I don’t see you as a woman” might be either how he sees every woman or him separating her from “women” because of her being the only one capable of approaching him or because after he got to know her, she’s the only safe “woman” and therefore different from the dangerous and predatory “women” that was ingrained into his head after he was assaulted.

He probably was gonna say like you're not a woman to me (as in any other random woman), you're my 💕 fiancee 💕 and Renald will twack him for being an idiot again and hopefully all is solved within the next chapter

Lets face it, the guy is not socially adjusted and has said misleading stuff before... but Im sure Lynette is taking every word really seriously right after he confided in such a heavy thing with her so I can see where she'd feel hurt. It was a hurtful thing to hear even if he's a goober and didn't mean it that way.

Also props to the artist for taking that very seriously.

@amarrez sorry! I legit didnt see that tw (and I actually read through this chapter a few times). It might have been good to make it its own page. Esp for mobile users, its not actually that large.

Prince here talking about how he was sexually assaulted as a child and all the comments are just insulting him for being insensitive right after talking about his childhood trauma...

So the prince was traumatized & his magic probably worked unconsciously to make all women stay away from him, like a self-defense mechanism

He hasn't explained it but I'm gonna assume that he doesn't consider Lynette to be just one of those 'women' who need to be defended against, as in she's an exception

But ofc poor Lynette's gotta angst & be guilty & heartbroken for a while before they resolve anything :'( Hope they can figure things out before the jubilee is over, bc Lynette's gonna leave if she's not loved
