Biggest part of getting people attention, is being in the right place at the right time.

There's also a translation issue.

I'm not saying that anyone has made any mistakes, I'm just saying it's always an issue.

人 doesn't map directly to person, but does imply humanoid shape, just due to the history of East Asian languages, and this being derived from a drawing of a person, and linked with other characters to make many other words.

There are other words in Japanese that in English would or could be translated to "person" but are specific enough that it would be 3 words in English.
"Japanese person" isn't as specific as 日本人 or ,日系人 (Japanese citizen, ethnically Japanese).

There's a whole lot of linguistic stuff going on when you are translating really common terms.

My headcanon: the demons use their own version of person, and the demon word translation of person is reserved for humans. That's where the word devil comes from.

I'm most interested in how Ameri herself is affected by all of this human-hybrid stuff.
She seems mostly like a normal demon, but she was literally born in human blood and had human blood pumped into her for the whole gestation period.
Did that have some kind of an effect on her? It doesn't seem to have turned her into a crazy monster like how human blood normally effects demons. Maybe it only had a partial effect and made her stronger than average? Though her dad seems like he was about as impressive as her when he was in school.
Is her own blood more similar to a human's? Surely there would've been at least a couple of times through her life where she bled, but did anything special happen? Would she be affected by human blood the same way other demons are?

To me, it seems like she's mostly just a normal demon with nothing human about her, but that brings us back to the question of what effects the human blood had on her when she was in the womb and during birth.
I'm sure we'll eventually get some kind of answer about this.
