Further cementing my pity for rosemary with this chapter. Like I've made my point by now but you cant realistically fully fault her for how she turned out, especially with how she ended up being raised- Add in all her own self esteem issues and it all makes for a sad, depressing cake. Hopefully she gets a redemption arc, people change from how they were as snot nosed children after all

Kind of yes, though it doesn't really make sense for why they wouldn't. This is an aristocratic society. Marriages/blood ties are what bind the various families together. A guy sleeping around like that, possibly fathering bastard children, especially when he is a royal, is a major issue. Ties to the throne are things that cause problems when they aren't controlled, and even when controlled, it still causes problems. Even without that, that kind of thing still is going to cause problems, because again, blood ties are important and he can ruin some political marriages with his philandering (might be where Rosemary got her groupies from). Which would likely lead to him, and the women he is sleeping with, on the hit list for Serena and her peers.

With the fact that there seems to be a cottage industry of assassins who kill off the corrupt and stupid nobles, you would think that he would be taught to think about what he is doing more. I can understand Rosemary being stupid, even if she comes off as maliciously so at many points, but this guy is being raised by a power hungry woman. Families getting killed off is not something that should fly under the radar for someone like that.

It’s probably stricter for the royal family.

But their noble society seems to treat it as common thing. As long as the marriage is still valid on paper, both side turns blind eyes to the husband and wife having affairs with the person they like. After all, both married just for their obligation to tie alliance and produce heir.
That, and everyone probably in the same shithole so they got no right to point finger at each other unless the affair caused a scandal.

In the WN version, there is chance that Einrich actually liked Rosemary in the beginning. The story never tell involvement of his mother, and he never show interest to Serena. Alas, the WN version are rushed.
It’s the LN version that shows he tried to court Serena despite being engaged, as well as telling how the engagement is purely political. But later he got over with chasing Serena.

In both version, Einrich found his “true love” in a girl of mixed birth. Her father is a viscount, who slept with his maid. His wife chased that maid away, and she raised her daughter outside as a commoner. After the viscount’s wife died, he find and bring his daughter back. So she falls into your typical “low ranking noble with commoner mentality” heroine stereotype.
If I’m not mistaken, also a gold digger, so worse than Rosemary in some way as she’s more cunning.

In the LN, Serena is actually perplexed on how Einrich would choose “love”, and even goes against his mother’s plan.

So far, the manga removed that girl.
I hope it can still follow the WN/LN version, where Rosemary’s conflict is with that girl, instead of making the jealousy targeted to Serena.
Besides, Serena seems to take the stance of supporting Einrich and Rosemary’s engagement because it has been made official (even if she know there’s no love, they must finish what they start).

If this turns out how I suspect it to, Rosemary is going to end up directing all of her negative emotions towards her sister. Which is a shame for her, because there's probably nobody better suited than her sister to get Rosemary out of this situation with the least embarrassment and punish the prince and his mother.
