even if she doesn't give a damn about her reputation it still infuriates me to some extent
Ngl we're all just tigur atm, getting more and more frustrated with this shit. For someone who likes to think herself somewhat smart, she's a fucking retard. She has communication to the Prince and I'm pretty sure she is ignoring the other Prince... yanno thingys fiancee. Like why?.. jus fuckin tell em 🙄smh

Thank you for the chapter.
She played the game in a pretty hard core way eh? I suppose she knew that she could bare the physical pain. And she never care much about insults anyway.
In some ways, she is kind of a contradiction: She didn't care much about her own household but she still try to keep up the noble facade in society. She enjoyed the luxuries that came with being a duke's daughter but not in excess. And she could give it all up at a moment notice, if needed be.
Now that I typed all that... She is in constant state of vigilance and never let her guards down, especially in her own house. That sounds exhausting...

I don't think they're in it for the money. They want to disrupt the balance of power in the factions by getting a ducal family in their side and since the mom is stupid she fell for it that's why the dad is so pissed off at her for agreeing with the engagement without his permission.

Plus marrying her pleb sister won't gain them any money or territory in fact since she's marrying into HIS family so she's going to lose her claim to the dukedom. Although the prince faction might fight for her right to claim but I doubt the nobles/other faction would allow a younger sister that's adopted, commoner and married into another family take control of powerful territory
I have no idea how it would be achieved through the marriage, but the second prince's mom flat out said "What I want is their fortune" in chapter 6.1.

That's how to be a politician, even someone close to you could stab your back after all, and at any moment too, should they have interest in it. That's why I always say that politics are like poison to society, to humanity.

Shouldn't physical assault against a noble be punishable by death? If this knight gets away scot free then I'm dropping this series.

I can tolerate her Mother's and Rosemary's idiocy but not this self-righteous bastard.
Yes. Even if the knight is a noble himself, Sarena is a fucking Duke's daughter. Touching her means death on principle. This manga is fun, but the idiocy some characters display is a bit too much. It feels like the author doesn't understand how ruthless nobility was and how they wielded that power on every ocassion just because they could.

funny how she literally did what her sister did
where she change what actually happen with her words

the sister did the bad stuff and the mc got the blame because of her sister words
now the mc taunt the knight and the knight punch her, she pull his sword and the knight got the blame because of her wording
(i know that it still knight's fault but she make the knight's punishment even worse because the other knight think the black sheep knight try to hit her with his sword)

Seriously are most people running around really that stupid? Now even a knight is showing the same level of intellect as mother and sister.
What did you expect
from people who chosed knighthood
Over scholarship?

The knight got a point, but it's something best left unspoken.

First : He is a royal knight, so he answer to the knights order. If there is complaint about his action, then it should be escalated to his boss who will make judgment and give proper punishment. Although... knight are also supposed to act properly, including showing respect to people especially those with high status.

Second : He is sent to escort Rosemary by the prince. Heinrich would lose face if people think he is too afraid to stand up when his subordinate is insulted. So normally, people would think twice before picking a fight.

But as Serena said, it's up to the prince to decide if he feels insulted or not. That's not what Rosemary or the knight to decide. What they could do is just to file a complaint, and if Heinrich gives order to discipline Serena for it, only then that knight would have his justification and backing.

I know it’s supposed to be the story of the series, but I still don’t get what reward by the first prince would be enough for our MC to stick around and play the political game when she can just run away to a different country/continent and be done with it.

She has no attachment to her family and has skills to survive and make it somewhere.

I wish the story had given our MC clear and strong motivation for sticking with all this silly drama.
She can survive on her own, but it doesn't mean she would happily welcome back life of scraping for trash and drinking gutter water.
We see when she gets into trouble, but most of the time, thanks to Rosemary, her mother and servants ignored her. She can just do her own business. Annoyed, but nothing she can't swallow.

Evan's offer means the imminent risk of her family getting caught in political conflict is under control. This way, she is no longer in a hurry to abandon ship.

Honestly.. all of this feels like it would go away or turn on its head when it's revealed that she is essentially the frist prince's fiance and Mary what ever would just lose it mentally and maybe reval that she's actual was reincarnated from our would or something
Serena is not Evan's fiance. If she is, they would have to announce it already.
What they did is just to fuel the speculation about both being close, be it romantically or politically, but they never commit on anything.
The important thing is to show public the Violets are still not all in for the second prince's faction.

It's the money they want. Violets might not have that high of social standing among the nobles, but they're probably the richest family in the country thanks to their active participation in tradings. Serena's dad is always away because he's going everywhere for international business dealing.

The second prince's side does have a card to play. Rosemary is still legally Violet's daughter, but she's also a burden because of her status as commoner born. Alto and Serena pointed it out before (ch6.1 p11), the prince could treat "taking the unwanted child" as a favour to the Violets to help funding them in the faction war.

Of course, that prince has no intention of keeping Rosemary. The nobles still put importance in bloodline purity.
In addition, they can only marry women of high ranking family so her family can help with lobbying. Marrying a commoner will have negative effect because it just gives pretext to their political enemies.

The knight isnt dumb. He is just full of himself because he's there by order of the prince. He is playing by the "rules" of the game, but she isnt and he doesnt know how to react. He is used to people being cowed by him using the name of the prince, and not used to people pushing back.

He is dumb. He isn't playing by the rules and if he thinks his bluff would work against the heiress of a duchy who is particularly known as stoic, competent and cold-hearted he just laid a trap for himself.

Now this is a good insight. I would love to have you as a politician irl. At least you have an eye and a good head and don't just spout some BS as promises, unlike politicians these days. At least you know how to choose your people and to see the situations at hand. I am not joking. You're just like that Dead King in Hell

Mannn. I just kinda wish she didn't do anything, then kill him or kinda make him fear her in the night time instead of this kind of bad direct approach

the dad is relatively nice, he just work too much to take care of his familly correctly
He's the perfect cog for the machine, but that's the problem. He's staying at cog instead of becoming a cog-laden machine.

She's probably pitying the father, the only one who loves her and trusting without asking. She was ok leaving as she knew that family was ruined once Rose accepted the proposal. She's caring for father, but not to extent of giving up her life. Since there's a chance, she's willing to try.
And IMO she's feeling better in big house with servants (luckily they are too scared to mess with her) and PROBABLY unconsciously finding it amusing to mock her dumb sister
